In this Systems Change Lecture, Dr. Cole Hooley of Brigham Young University discusses several frameworks that outline important determinants of scale-up. Universally, they acknowledge the interrelatedness and complex relationships between scale-up related constructs. These frameworks have been presented in linear fashions which inhibits the elucidation of these relationships. This works-in-progress presentation will discuss his teams effort to use system science methods to consolidate common constructs across scale-up frameworks and map out relationships and feedback loop among those constructs.
Dr. Hooley is a faculty member in the School of Social Work at Brigham Young University. His research program focuses on how to get what works to everyone who needs it more quickly, more equitably, and more lastingly. His work brings together ideas from mental health services research, implementation science, system science, and entrepreneurship. His research interests were born from his nearly 15 years of social work practice. Over that span of years he has been a case manager, case planner, psychotherapist, supervisor, director, and consultant. He retains a small clinical and consultation practice in addition to his academic position.
